Technical Tidbits 6/5: Football Picks Up Commit #1 and Is It The End For Chris Bosh?

A medical ruling means the end of the career for Chris Bosh while JaQuez Jackson becomes GT’s first member of the class of 2018

OLB JaQuez Jackson Commits to Georgia Tech

I had written a small piece on how concerning it was that Tech had not yet received a single commitment when, Voila! JaQuez Jackson decides to come to the Flats. Jackson hails from Fort Valley, GA and has strong size, fantastic explosiveness, and is great at finding his way to the ballcarrier. He chose Tech over Iowa, West Virginia, Maryland, and others. Hopefully this gets the ball rolling and gets some other recruits on the fence to find their way to the good side. Welcome to Atlanta Jaquez!

Chris Bosh’s Time Is Over In Miami Following Medical Decision

Georgia Tech Alumnus Chris Bosh has been struggling over the last several seasons with blood clots, which left him on the sideline for all of this season. Bosh has failed a physical with the Miami Heat and it is almost certain that he will be waived. It is possible for another team to sign him, should they deem him healthy enough to play. However, after a year and a half of not playing, it is not certain that Bosh still wants to play or that another team would sign him.

Fanside Ranks Georgia Tech’s All-Time Top Quarterbacks

There might be a bit of recency bias on these rankings (Only one of these quarterbacks played before the 1990s), but the list looks pretty good to me. Joe Hamilton is the obvious first choice while Justin Thomas comes in 4th on these rankings behind George Godsey and Shawn Jones. Joshua Nesbitt follows Thomas and the list ends with old-school quarterback Billy Lothridge who led the Yellow Jackets in their final SEC seasons.

Errin Joe Leaves Georgia Tech’s Classrooms For Some Different Classrooms

I don’t know about you, but I like hearing about what former Georgia Tech players are up to. According to his Instagram, the big man is now an English teacher and he seems to be well liked. Choice quote, “The first day I told them that this wasnt just English Literature, it was English LITerature!”
