Georgia Tech has added Lehigh graduate transfer Brandon Alston to help fill out its basketball roster for the 2017-18 season.

Alston averaged 6.7 PPG, 2.2 RPG and 1.2 APG last season for Lehigh. It’s unclear how much of a role Alston will play for Tech next season, but a veteran presence to help fill out the roster can’t be a bad thing for Josh Pastner.

Former Georgia Tech basketball player and current associate athletic director Marvin Lewis was picked as one of 13 College AD NextUp recipients.

The award is presented by Adidas and highlights college administrators who have not yet served as an athletic director, but appear ready to do the job. Lewis has worked in the Georgia Tech Athletic Association since 2014.

"Marvin is a committed and passionate young professional who has successfully transferred the leadership skills developed as a student-athlete to being a leader in athletic administration and a valuable member of my executive team," Georgia Tech director of athletics Todd Stansbury said. "As our CFO, his counsel, business acumen, and judgment are invaluable as we navigate the challenging landscape of intercollegiate athletics with innovative solutions. I can think of no one more deserving of the NextUp recognition."
