Georgia Tech lost 6-5 to Miami in 13 innings yesterday. The loss effectively ended Tech’s season, as the Jackets will lose any tiebreaker to either team in their pool regardless of today’s outcome against Wake Forest.

The loss drops Tech to 27-27 on the year. Another loss today against Wake would secure Georgia Tech’s first losing season in 24 years under Danny Hall.

Southern Pigskin released its preseason All-ACC teams, and Dedrick Mills was voted to the first team.

Mills led Georgia Tech with 771 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns last season, despite only playing in nine games. He rushed for a career-high 169 yards in the TaxSlayer Bowl against Kentucky and earned the game’s MVP honors.

Four Yellow Jackets from the women’s tennis team will compete in Athens, Ga. this week in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.

In the singles bracket, Rasheeda McAdoo will face Sidney Campbell from Vanderbilt and Johnnise Renaud will face Stanford’s Melissa Lord on Wednesday.

McAdoo and Campbell will also team up against a duo from Kentucky in the doubles bracket. Tech’s Paige Hourigan and Kenya Jones will also compete in the doubles championship, facing Florida in the first round.
