Georgia Tech Coaches Salute Their Wives and Mothers

Paul Johnson and Josh Pastner (Pastner’s response is here) discuss the role that a coach’s wife must play with the demanding jobs that they hold. Women’s Tennis is Perfect Through the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament

On Saturday, the Yellow Jackets made quick work of Alabama State with an easy 4-0 win to advance to the second round. Then on Sunday, they were able to take down Northwestern 4-0 although this one was a little closer. This brings the 8th ranked Yellow Jackets to the final 16 where they will face the 9th ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys.

On the men’s side, the Jackets won their first round match against Minnesota on Friday 4-1. On Saturday, #19 GT faced off against #15 Florida and had a tough day, falling 4-0. This ended a strong season for the Yellow Jackets as they will certainly finish within the top 25.

Yellow Jackets Win Against Duke on Sunday to Avoid Sweep

Sophomore Pitcher Jake Lee threw an absolute gem of a complete game to take down the Blue Devils on Sunday. He was helped out by a Ryan Peurifoy 9th inning 2-run home run which ended up being the difference in the 5-3 game. All three games this weekend the Jackets scored 5 runs.

The Saints have said they are still considering him at both wide receiver and cornerback. His chances to make a final 53 man roster are still rather slim, but this is a major step towards that goal.
