Welcome to From the Rumble Seat’s weekly look at the Yellow Jackets in professional basketball.

National Basketball Association:

Derrick Favors - Utah Jazz: After a short spell on the disabled list, Favors bounced back quickly this past week. After an uneventful nine minutes his first game back, he was just a rebound shy of a double-double the next night against the San Antonio Spurs. Unsatisfied, he added two more strong games before he finally got his double-double last night on the road against the Golden State Warriors. It was a stellar week for Favors, though the Jazz are on the outside looking in in the playoff hunt.

Marcus Georges-Hunt - Minnesota Timberwolves: Marcus Georges-Hunt continues to get minimal playing time in the three games the Timberwolves played this week. Though an improvement from the beginning of the season, coach Tom Thibodeau still cannot seem to get Georges-Hunt into a serious rotation. He has not attempted a shot in over a week.

Jarrett Jack - New York Knicks: After his solid week, he was bound to regress to the mean. Jack has still been a solid contributor to this surprising Knicks team, who are sitting just outside of the playoff picture. Jack had 11 points in last night’s loss to the Chicago Bulls, who have won nine of their last eleven after starting 3-20. The next time Jack hits the floor marks his 33rd game of the season, his highest in three seasons.

Iman Shumpert - Cleveland Cavaliers: Shumpert is still sidelined with a knee injury.

Thaddeus Young - Indiana Pacers: It’s been a light week for Young, who hasn’t shot particularly well or played as much of late. His peripheral stats are also down slightly. The Pacers remain in sixth place in the East. Meanwhile, there is no reason to believe Young would not return to normal before long. It’s a long season and one must take the peaks with the valleys.
