Welcome to From the Rumble Seat’s weekly look at the Yellow Jackets in professional basketball.

National Basketball Association:

Derrick Favors - Utah Jazz: Favors is questionable this week after getting stitches from catching Jaylen Brown’s elbow in his face as his Jazz scratched out a win against the Boston Celtics. Before he snagged Brown’s elbow, he also fell backwards onto his fellow big man Rudy Gobert, recently returned from injury himself, and neither returned to the game, and neither have played since. Gobert is likely out for another two weeks, but Favors will probably return in the Jazz’ next game.

Marcus Georges-Hunt - Minnesota Timberwolves: Georges-Hunt has been seeing a marked increase in playing time lately. He played as many as 17 minutes against the Kings, with an effective 66.7% shooting from the field. In the two games since, he has not scored but still contributed a handful of minutes and steals.

Jarrett Jack - New York Knicks: The resurgent point guard played a season high 35 minutes this weekend against the Thunder. Jack continues his efficient shooting, while contributing significant peripherals, especially assists. The Knicks are now 8th in the Eastern Conference, a playoff spot, and this pleasant surprise has been in no small part because of Jack’s unexpectedly strong recovery from the meniscus tear that limited to just two games last season.

Iman Shumpert - Cleveland Cavaliers: Shumpert has not played since the last edition of the Pro Jacket Report came out. After his arthroscopic knee surgery, it is likely he will miss two months, possibly not returning until after the All-Star break. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers have continued their strong play despite losing Shumpert and Isaiah Thomas to extended injuries.

Thaddeus Young - Indiana Pacers: Of all the professional Jackets, Young as had the most “business as usual” this season. He has remained a key cog of the Indiana Pacers, a solid and healthy contributor to this middle-of-the-pack possible playoff team. Though he has experienced a slight knee aggravation, it is not expected to sideline him at all in the coming games.
