Tonight, Georgia Tech and Grambling State will tipoff in the final game of the Ramblin’ Wreck showcase. The Jackets come into this one after a buzzer beating victory against Northwestern on Tuesday which improved their record to 4-1. Grambling State comes into the game enjoying not as much success, as they currently sit at just 1-5, their lone victory coming over UTRGV.

Not only are the Tigers breaking in a new head coach, but they also lost their top three scorers from a season ago. The result? An offense that ranks 331st in the country in efficiency. On the other side of the ball, the Tigers have been even worse this year. They come into tonight’s game ranked 342nd in the country in defensive efficiency.

The player to watch on Grambling State is Sophomore guard Ivy Smith. Smith is averaging 13.5 points per game and nearly 6 assists per game, both of which lead the team. He is also leading the team in minutes, at 34 per game.

While no game should ever be taken for granted, this should be one of the easier games of the season for the Jackets. Hopefully the Jackets can get through this one healthy and well rested for Sunday’s huge matchup against Tennessee.

Georgia Tech will be collecting both non-perishable foods and new or slightly used coats at the game, which will be distributed to local charities during the holiday season. If you are going to be attending the game, please donate to a great cause.
