Technical Tidbits 11/3: Marshall injury update, a special anniversary, tickets for the troops

NCAA Football: Georgia Tech at Clemson Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

Mama, I’m coming home. For those who had assumed tackle Andrew Marshall would be calling it a career after losing this year to injury - he lost the early part of the year due to a preseason injury, then lost the rest of it when he suffered another injury coming back from the first one - I am happy to report you were all wrong, and to wave your wrongness in your face: he will be back next year for one final season on the Flats.

We’ll see more of this big boy next year...... wait, who did you think I was talking about?

Marshall is set to graduate in December, but it sounds like grad school is in the plans for his immediate future. When he returns, he’ll be competing against Jake Stickler and Jahaziel Lee for a starting tackle position. See you soon, buddy.

Just keep it, we don’t want it back now. Today marks ten years (and two days.... whoops) since the somewhat infamous “jerseygate game”, where four Virginia Tech jerseys went missing when the Hokies visited Atlanta and the affected players had to wear (Georgia) Tech jerseys instead. Hokies quarterback Sean Glennon had a career day in that jersey, so they better have just let him keep it. Myself, I remember this game more for sharing the halftime performance with Big Boi. It’s better that way.

We’re making this about the troops. Georgia Tech’s penultimate home game next Saturday vs. Virginia Tech has been designated as Military Appreciation Day, and accordingly there are several extra accouterments attached to this gameday, including discounted ticket sales for armed forces members pregame skydivers. Not seeing anything about a flyover, though.

Halloween may be over but Georgia Tech football will be looking to spoOoOoOok you all the way into December!
