What a man, what a man, what a man, what a mighty good man. We all know Calvin Johnson was a phenomenal football player. That’s never been in question.
Well, ol’ Big Play CJ’s just been recognized as not just a man, but a Man of the Year by the Walter Camp Football Foundation. Having achieved success on the field is a criteria for consideration, but it’s what Johnson has done off it that really counts: through the Calvin Johnson, Jr. Foundation, he’s helped several families and at-risk youths in both Atlanta and Detroit. Congrats on all your football successes, CJ, and even bigger congrats on the recognition for being an amazing human.
Oh good, more bad news, just what we needed. Starting the season down two players seemingly wasn’t enough for the Hardwood Jackets, as not only has a third suspension been handed down - this time for Justin Moore - but assistant coach Darryl LaBarrie has also been placed on leave while the Institute investigates an alleged NCAA violation. On the bright side: hey, look, Tadric Jackson will be back next game!
5-star RBs, LBs unhappy about getting dunked on by nerds. Nick Chubb has already gone on record citing losing to Georgia Tech as a major reason for him delaying receiving millions of dollars from an NFL franchise to play one final year of college ball, and now so is UGA linebacker Lorenzo Carter. But remember, y’all, Tech’s not a real rival.
See y’all on the other side. Go Jackets.
