Georgia Tech men’s basketball coach Josh Pastner held a press conference on Tuesday in preparation for the upcoming season. Tech plays an exhibition against Georgia State this Saturday at McCamish Pavilion for hurricane relief.
Pastner said he does not know how ready the Jackets are just yet and that the extra exhibition against the Panthers will be a good test against a zone defense. Georgia Tech’s regular season opener takes place on November 10 against UCLA in Shanghai, China.
Several Georgia Tech football players also spoke with the media about this week’s game against the Clemson Tigers following practice on Tuesday.
“We’re playing the defending national champions. That’s what you want to do. We’re playing Clemson at nighttime and everybody knows how electric that is,” said Georgia Tech senior defensive back Lawrence Austin.
Tech’s meeting with Clemson will be the 83rd between the schools, making Clemson Tech’s fourth-most commonly played opponent. The Jackets will look to take down the Tigers and stay in the hunt for the ACC Coastal crown.
