Well this went from fun to very annoying pretty quickly. BUT IT’S OKAY BECAUSE TECH WON SOMEHOW!!!!
The second half got off to a miserable start after Tech went three-and-out. Boston College got the ball back and promptly broke off a 73-yard touchdown run.
Georgia Tech looked to be responding pretty well to it, and then Dedrick Mills had a bit of a freshman moment and coughed up a fumble destroying any momentum Tech had at that point. From there, it looked like BC was about to take the lead, but thankfully they lined up for another field goal that was wide left. And this time, it didn’t even need to be blocked.
Tech went three-and-out on the next drive.
It was at that point, that Boston College was finally able to finish a drive. The Eagles orchestrated a 9-play, 63-yard touchdown drive that finished with a touchdown run by Patrick Towles.
Georgia Tech responded with a drive that saw them get to inside the BC 20-yard line, but they had to settle for a field goal.
After forcing a three-and-out (and not calling a timeout), Tech got the ball back and started working their way down the field. Things looked bleak at first after getting to a fourth down and long. But then, Justin Thomas hit Qua Searcy for the fourth down conversion. From there, they were able to work their way down the field with Justin Thomas running up to the BC 6-yard line with just 47 seconds left.
First play, stuffed up the middle. And then DEDRICK MILLS REDEEMED HIMSELF FOR THE FUMBLE LOST EARLIER AND SCORED A TOUCHDOWN ON A TOSS TO THE LEFT SIDE AND OH MY GOODNESS IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!
