Cade returns on Monday (and not a moment too soon), so feel free to rejoice! Thanks for reading, you’ve been a great audience.
Georgia Tech was one of the teams featured in Day 1 of the ACC Kickoff in Greensboro yesterday, featuring some of the following gems:
- Paul Johnson has a lot of confidence that Justin Thomas will return to form this fall after a difficult 2015 campaign. He also threw some #disrespect at Sean Bedford by playing favorites, and was given perhaps the worst-imaginable seat for the picture with the Coastal players and coaches in attendance:
- Justin Thomas’s suit game was STRONG (as was Pat Gamble’s), as he’s been learning all sorts of neat things in the lead-up to the team’s season-opener in Ireland.
- With the head coach out of sight and out of mind, the team’s seniors took it upon themselves to enjoy a nutritious dinner.
- Also, ESPNU damn near broke

ESPN’s College Gameday is preparing for the 2016 season by counting down the top plays from last year. Checking in at #45 is a play you’ll never, ever forget, and which seems criminally underrated here. If you’re mad, that’s OK, you’re not alone. Here’s the reaction from Brant Mitchell when he heard about that ranking, and here’s how P.J. Davis feels about it.
Lastly, I feel like I need to use this platform one last time for a little self-promotion. For those who listened to my new ACC football podcast (lovingly titled “Basketball Conference”) last week, I truly appreciate it, and I appreciate those of you who gave feedback on how we did. Episode 2 is now posted, including new-and-improved sound quality, Mike and I duking it out over which of our schools is the real “Tech”, a preview of Georgia Tech’s 2016 season, and a look at the new ACC Network!
