Congrats Adam!

With the final pick in the 2nd round, the Denver Broncos selected Georgia Tech DT Adam Gotsis. Gotsis will join former Jackets Demaryius Thomas and Vance Walker in Denver. Prior to the draft, reviews were mixed on Gotsis due to his injury and lack of experience playing football. Many draft experts had Gotsis being drafted in the 4th round or later. However, ESPN draft analysts Mel Kiper and Todd McShay both graded him as a 2nd round value in their final rankings, with McShay listing him as the 2nd most underrated player in the entire draft.

Fit

Gotsis will fit in well in the Broncos' 3-4 defense under DC Wade Phillips. He will ideally play the 5-Technique(3-4 DE), where the Broncos lost Malik Jackson this off-season to free agency. Gotsis will join a strong front that includes Derek Wolfe and Von Miller, and will see plenty of 1-on-1 opportunities as a result. After being double-teamed constantly in college, being single blocked will certainly be a welcome change.

It is unknown if Gotsis will be ready for training camp or the first game of the season, but he will certainly see significant snaps this year.
