Bowl Projections Extravaganza Week 9

SB Nation - Military Bowl vs Houston

After finding out they would not be joining the Big 12, Houston dropped another game on the road to SMU. So their chances of making it to a New Year’s Six bowl are all but eliminated. I’m all in on this matchup. Jackets - Coogs would be certainly be a fun one to watch. This would be yet another opponent Tech has never faced in football before, though these teams have met recently in a postseason matchup. Georgia Tech beat Houston in the first round of last year’s NIT.

ESPN (Schlabach) - St. Petersburg Bowl vs South Florida

We saw this destination projected last week, but here’s a different opponent. South Florida lost their first conference game this week to Temple to fall to 6-2. The Bulls have a high-powered offense, averaging more than 43 points per game. Georgia Tech and South Florida have never played each other before.

ESPN (McMurphy) - Quick Lane Bowl vs Indiana

We saw this matchup projected last week. Indiana dropped to 3-4 this week after losing on the road to Northwestern.

CBS Sports - Military Bowl vs Memphis

CBS sticks with their same projection from last week, with the Jackets and Tigers meeting in Annapolis. Memphis lost on the road to Navy on Saturday.
