After two close losses in their first two ACC games, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were able to finish the drill in their upset of the Virginia Cavaliers. Now, they face their next test as they travel to South Bend to take on the Fighting Irish.
The Fighting Irish bring in an offense that is averaging 78.6 points per game, while the team is averaging 68.6 points per game. That offense showcases five players who are averaging 10 points per game or more.
Leading the way is junior Demetrius Jackson, who leads the Irish with 17.1 points per game, while shooting 50.5 percent from the floor (42.6 percent from three). He also leads the team (by a wide margin) in assists with 5.3 per game. Jackson also leads the team in steals with 20.
The Irish also feature two more players that are good with points and rebounds. First up is senior Zach Auguste, who is averaging 13.3 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game (102 of his 143 rebounds are on defense). Joining Auguste is sophomore Bonzie Colson, who is averaging 11.3 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game (74 of his 106 rebounds are on defense). Colson also leads the team in blocks with 21.
Joining these three guys in the Irish's lineup will be junior Steve Vasturia (12.3 ppg || 52.2 percent shooting || 3.1 apg) and junior V.J. Beachem (11.9 ppg || 47.5 percent shooting || 42-of-92 from the 3-point line).
