Hey guys, we need some help! And you may be just the person we're looking for! Are you passionate about all things Georgia Tech? If so, then you will want to apply for the multiple positions we are looking to fill! And don't worry, you won't have to sell your soul to Joey this time! :D
Social Media Manager
So earlier this week, our social media manager, Chris Stanley, was offered a really nice job at Gamecock Sports Radio, which he has decided to accept. We want to wish Chris the best in his future endeavors and thank him for the wonderful work he put in while with FTRS! Thank you Chris!
But with Chris leaving, that means we have a very important spot open. The social media manager is someone who will run all of FTRS' social media accounts, so a proficient knowledge of those would be very helpful. We'll go over some of the finer aspects of the job, should you choose to apply.
Basketball Writer
Yeah, basketball has been a bit of a sore spot the last few years, but we still need some help with writing about it. Should you apply for this job, you'd be mostly writing about basketball (that means even during the offseason). You will still be more than welcome to help out with the other aspects of the site, but your primary focus will be basketball.
Other
While the first two positions are the only ones we are actively looking to fill, that does not mean you can't apply for something else. We are always willing to look at good writers and want to be able to find the best fit for them. So if you're interested in writing about football, baseball or recruiting, don't hesitate to send us your resume as well. Just be prepared to blow our socks off.
Working with FTRS is definitely a lot of fun, and I'm confident in saying, nobody on staff has regretted being on staff. It's also can be very time-consuming though, so if you're contemplating applying, please do keep that in mind. We at FTRS place a heavy emphasis on initiative -- being able to write stuff with out the site managers assigning stuff to you -- so if you have a pretty busy schedule, that becomes difficult. So definitely keep that in mind.
Good luck to all applicants, and may the force be with you all!
