Halftime Notes: Duke 38, Tech 34

Cameron Indoor looks and is treated like a castle by its fans and it's truly awe-inspiring.

Here are some of my takes form halftime here at majestic Cameron Indoor:

  • The crazies hang over you on press row. More than enough legacy BO than I care for in one night.
  • Cameron is packed OUT for a mid-week game against a 10-11 team. You gotta give it up to the fans here, they know how to party.
  • Tech came out in a smooth shooting rhythm. The big key? 3-5 from downtown, 10-21 from inside the arch. That is the formula if Tech wants to stay in this game.
  • Jahlil Okafor is just as imposing in person as he is on TV. He isn't the most polished big man, but give him a couple of years in the league and he'll make one hell of a pro.
  • Tech's guards are playing their best basketball of the season. Three turnovers between the four of them and 13 points.
  • Demarco Cox isn't shying away from posting up on Okafor. So far: 3-5, six points, blocked once.
  • Mark Price is in attendance. He has been a name floating around If Brian Gregory gets canned.
  • Duke playing smart as always. Only three free throw attempts given up so far, then again we are in Cameron tonight.
  • Tech has three blocks to Dukes one. It will be key for Tech to keep playing well with Dukes bigs.
  • The media gets a seven dollar voucher to the concession stand for food, which buys you more than you'd think.
  • This has already been the experience of a lifetime. Can't wait to see what the second half has in store!
