Finals are over for the Jackets and now they get to return to McCamish Pavilion to play some basketball. Tonight's game will look for Charles Mitchell to extend his double-double streak to nine games against a Shaka Smart-less VCU team.
Though Smart left for the Texas Longhorns, VCU is still a solid team and may very well see themselves in the NCAA Tournament once again. The Rams are averaging 74 points a game while giving up 65.
On offense, the Rams are led by two seniors in Melvin Johnson and Korey Billbury. Johnson leads the team by a pretty good margin with 19.9 points per game, while shooting 43.3 percent from the floor. He is also far and away, the Rams' best three-point shooter at 47.8 percent from beyond the arc in nearly 70 attempts (no one else has more than 27). Johnson is also second on the team in assists with 21.
Billbury is second on the team with 11 points per game, while shooting 43.2 percent from the floor, but also adds a lot of value with rebounds, in which he is second on the team with 5.5 per game (including a team-high 33 defensive rebounds).
Joining these two in the starting line-up will be juniors Jordan Burgess, Jequan Lewis and Mo Alie-Cox.
Game Time: 9:00 p.m. EST
