Women's basketball season gets started!

Cross Country

ACC Championships -- Apalachee Regional Park -- Tallahassee, Fla. -- 10/30

The Men's and Women's Cross Country teams didn't finish very well in the ACC Championships this last weekend, with the guys finishing 10th and the ladies 14th.

Leading the way for the guys in the 8K was Brandon Lasater, who finished in 23rd place with a time of 24:19.3. The Yellow Jackets had three other runners finish in the top 50: Jeremy Greenwald (42nd | 24:51.5), Nahom Solomon (44th | 24:53.8) and Zane Coburn (48th | 24:56.6).

Leading the way for the women in the 6K was Hayley Keadey, who finished in 61st place with a time of 21:54.5. The Lady Jackets had two other runners finish in the top 100: Melissa Fairey (84th | 22:21.4) and Sarah Bowles (91st | 22:26.2).

Upcoming Events

The next event for the Cross Country team is the NCAA South Regional. The event in on Nov. 13, starting at 10 a.m. EST in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

The Lady Jackets (15-9, 6-6 ACC) get back to action next weekend as they host Duke at 7 p.m. on Friday and Wake Forest Sunday at 1 p.m.

Men's Golf

Kiawah Classic -- Turtle Point Golf Club -- Kiawah Island, S.C. -- 11/1-11/3

As a team, Georgia Tech finished 10th in the Kiawah Classic earlier this week despite the final round of the event being cancelled due to inclement weather.

Sophomore Jacob Joiner led the way for the Jackets as he finished in 12th place in a tie at 2-under-par 142, just eight strokes off the lead. The Jackets had three more golfers finish in the top 100 individually: James Clark (T-41st | 148 | +4), Chris Petefish (T-53rd | 150 | +6) and Vincent Whaley (T-66th | 152 | +8).

The Men's Tennis team will get back to action starting tomorrow as they take part in the USTA Clay Court Invitational in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Women's Tennis

Crimson Tide Invitational -- Tuscaloosa, Ala. -- 10/30-11/1

At the Crimson Tide Invitational this past week, the Lady Jackets were represented by four players: Alexa Anton-Ohlmeyer, Rasheeda McAdoo, Johnnise Renaud and Alexis Prokopuik.

The team of Renaud and McAdoo participated in the Emily Zabor Draw, while the other duo of Anton-Ohlmeyer and Prokopuik participated in the Jenny Whalen Draw. Both duos made it to the finals in their respective draws, but only the pair of Renaud and McAdoo were able to pull out the victory.

Three of the four also won their singles draws with victories coming for Prokopuik (Susan Carver Draw), McAdoo (Courtney McClane Draw) and Anton-Ohlmeyer (Becca Baum Draw).

Upcoming Events

The Lady Jackets are done for 2015, but get back to action in the new year.
