Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. No. 8 Villanova Wildcats: How to Watch, Preview, Gamethread and More!

Come join us as the Yellow Jackets (4-1) finish their journey through the NIT Season Tipoff against No. 8 Villanova (5-0).

In the midst of your stuffing yourself yesterday with turkey and being very thankful about it, the Yellow Jackets managed to be Arkansas after another pretty dominant offensive performance. With that win, and Villanova's win over Stanford, the championship match of the NIT Season Tipoff pits these two teams against each other.

Villanova is a very balanced, but defensive team. They've only allowed 53.8 points a game to opponents, but each of their starting five are averaging over 10 points per game.

They're led in that category by junior Josh Hart. He leads the team with 15.2 points per game, while shooting 47 percent from the floor and 35 percent from three (all first on the team). He is without a doubt the Wildcats best offensive player and one of the better defensive players, leading the team in defensive rebounds with 5.6 a game. He's also second in steals with eight.

The other major player I want to highlight is mostly a defensive player, but he averages 10.6 points per game. And that is senior Daniel Ochefu. Now while the points per game is decent, what makes Ochefu so great is pretty much everything else. He leads the team in blocks by a wide margin at 13 (no one else has more than four). He also leads the team in rebounds with 9.2 per game, which are pretty balanced offensively (22) and defensively (24).

Joining these two in the starting five are senior Ryan Arcidiacono (45 percent shooting, 12.2 ppg, nine steals and 23 assists), freshman Jalen Brunson (38 percent shooting, 11.4 ppg and 19 assists) and junior Kris Jenkins (41 percent shooting, 11.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg).

I think another thing to note in this match-up is that in each of Villanova's five games this season, their offensive output has decreased slightly with each game, meaning they've scored less points in five consecutive games. In those five games, though, the Wildcats only allowed more than 60 points once (11/17 vs. Nebraska).
