After finishing 12-19 (3-15 ACC) just a season ago, the Yellow Jackets open up the 2015-2016 season with a match-up against the Cornell Big Red, who finished last season 13-17 with a 5-9 record in the Ivy League.
Cornell returns just two starters from last season in juniors Robert Hatter and David Onuorah. Last season, Hatter was the second leading scorer at 11.3 points per game, while shooting 36.5 percent from the floor. He was one of the team's best from the free throw line, going 75-of-90 (83.3 percent). He didn't do much in terms of rebounds or assists, with 2.7 and 0.7 per game, respectively.
At center, Onuorah was a solid shooter when he got his chances, shooting 44.6 percent from the floor for just 2.0 points per game. He was second on the team in blocks, though, with 45, so he will be staying close to the basket looking to knock down a couple shots tonight. He's also a decent rebounder who averaged 3.5 a game last season.
The projected starting lineup for the Big Red features Hatter, Daryl Smith and freshman Matt Morgan at guard, Jordan Abdur Ra'oof at forward and Onuorah at center.
