So here we sit with Georgia Tech at 2-3. They’re eliminated from the playoffs and an ACC Championship appearance may be out the window (Duke’s conference schedule is a cakewalk). But fear not, for the Jackets need just four wins to make it to another bowl game! *crickets*
Fine. I’ll admit it: this season has the early looks of a disaster. Don’t worry. I have just what the doctor ordered.
I’m going to step out on a limb (one that isn’t very steady) and say that Georgia Tech is going to go into Death Valley tomorrow and emerge with a victory over a top-10 team in the Clemson Tigers. Why should you feel confident? Let’s just say that I haven’t missed a Georgia Tech game yet this season.
It won't be easy. Clemson has allowed an average of 113.75 yards per game on the ground, which is good for 24th nationally. In total defense, they are 22nd nationally allowing 303.5 yards per game. The Clemson offense on the other hand is ranked 62nd overall with 405 yards per game. So the Jackets have a shot IF they can get it figured out on offense and I think they will. So does Chase Herbstreit.
