The fact that we are past the midpoint in the season and are still forced to talk almost exclusively about Georgia Tech's persistent struggles is getting old very quickly. But alas, here we are. Today's miserable topic? Which team has been a bigger disappointment during 2015: the 2-5 Yellow Jackets or Virginia Tech, a team which currently stands at 3-4 heading into a big game against Duke. That answer, to me at least, seems more than obvious. The Jackets were the preseason ACC Coastal favorite and have already dropped to 0-4 in the ACC. That is just flat out awful. Is losing to ECU, as Virginia Tech did, bad? Of course. But the Hokies just don't quite have that combination of failed expectations and ugly losses that the Jackets do. Well, at least so far.
The 2015 season has been, by all means, an all-time low for Paul Johnson so far at Georgia Tech. Never before has the offense failed to operate while the defense simultaneously struggled to stop anyone. It. SUCKS. As strong a supporter of Paul Johnson I am, I'm not blind to the fact that his stay has some serious peaks and valleys. To say that this is the lowest valley is really making a statement because there have been quite a few over the years. If the Jackets can't even look competitive against the Seminoles, it may be time for me to reevaluate my stance on what's wrong with the team. Does that mean turning on Paul Johnson? No. But at some point coaching has to come into question and a well-coached team shouldn't lose 6 straight games.
If you plan to attend Georgia Tech's whiteout game against Florida State tomorrow night, be wary of some extreme traffic conditions all around campus. All you need to know is that this game is competing with a Taylor Swift concert tomorrow. That's terrifying. When you couple it with the four other events going on in midtown and downtown, not including the Tech game, it gets even scarier. The game should be awesome, but getting there might not be. Good luck.
The Jackets will break out their white honeycomb helmets for the game against Florida State, just as they did for last season's whiteout versus Miami -- a late-night victory over the Hurricanes. I'm excited and you should be too. Top-tier teams always make for fun upsets.

Is this present streak an all-time low for Paul Johnson? Has anything gotten close to it in the past?
