Well this certainly was an interesting turn of events. Following the decommitment of Brandon Singleton last week, defensive end Anree Saint-Amour announced, via Twitter, that he had committed to Georgia Tech.
I'm proud to announce... pic.twitter.com/7papAY8TsG— Anree (@anreesaintamour) January 27, 2015
Saint-Amour is a very talented defensive end, as you'll see in his film below, but if you've read anything I've written in the last couple weeks regarding recruiting, you will see that I've been of the opinion that we had moved on from Saint-Amour. Just goes to show how crazy of a world recruiting is.
Now, let's talk about Saint-Amour. He's a 6'2" 245 lbs. weakside defensive end out of North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, GA. He is rated as a three-star (5.7) outside linebacker by Rivals (profile) and as a three-star (87) weakside defensive end by 247Sports (profile).
He committed to Tech over reported offers from Stanford, Michigan State and various others, with Stanford being the main competition.
Saint-Amour will likely be Tech's final commitment barring another decommitment, which I only see as a possibility for one player and even then, I'm not sure it will happen. This also likely means that linebacker and UCLA commit Vic Alexander will not take his official visit to Tech this weekend.
Here's Saint-Amour's highlights from the first half of his senior season.
What are your thoughts on Saint-Amour and his commitment to Tech?
EDIT: I'm now hearing unconfirmed reports that due to some SAs leaving early, we may have more spots opening up, so the possibility of getting Marcus Marshall and/or Vic Alexander is still alive.
