From the Rumble Seat's Weekend Selections and Over/Under Season Leaderboards

It's been a few weeks now that we've been unable to provide you with a proper leaderboard, so as promised, here's an up-to-date, accurately-calculated one.

Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports

For those of you seasoned vets that have been around since we started doing the Over/Unders and Weekend Selections last season, you'll know that this year, our format for submitting responses was updated. Last year, you put stuff in the comments. This year, we've done it in a format that doesn't require four hours of my time per week to track (chalk it up to one more thing on this earth that Industrial Engineers have optimized. Woo! #ISyEMasterRace). However, that tracking method did involve a couple of bumps in the road, which have led to the inability to report a season leaderboard...until now. Wondering how you've been doing this fall to date? Time to find out. Hopefully it's better than I've been thus far.

Over/Unders

We'll start with the Over/Unders through four Georgia Tech games. For reference, the maximum score in each game is 6, meaning the current maximum score would be 24. Here's the leaderboard as of now...

Congrats to you, ClavinCliff, for having sole possession of first place at the moment. Also, congrats to Atlanta's original Team, Ben Tankersley, and Tyler Duke for being co-leaders amongst those on staff. For those wondering, I'm currently tied for 35th out of 49 players that have participated for all 4 games, and I'm 46th out of 65 players that have at least 10 points -- the minimum of those who have played all 4 weeks. So yeah, my work is cut out for me. I'll try to stop out-smarting myself. thebugman10 currently holds the low-water mark at 10 points through all four games (also for the record, there are 16 players tied with or above him who have missed out on at least one game).

A little more analysis on those who have played for all 4 games...

13 10 89.8%
12 2 93.9%
11 2 98.0%
10 1 100.0%

So, yeah, the guy setting the lines is in the bottom 30% of results to date. We'll work on that.

Weekend Selections

You know, typically I would be a lot better at this, except that this season has been the type where you probably should just flip a coin, draw results out of a hat, or do some of that other goofy stuff they do on those ESPN March Madness commercials.

User kenneth bonner is currently your leader, which is interesting because he's yet to be the leader in any individual week. Being the definition of consistent has been his calling card, with an average of 14 points per week, and 3 of 5 weeks where his score was exactly that. Also notable is thebugman10, who is making up for Over/Under deficiencies by pretty much showing all of us up, currently tying for second place in weekend selections (for those into sports betting -- if you're looking for advisors, these guys are looking pretty good so far). Currently the leader on the staff is none other than the young gun himself, edac46, otherwise known as Cade. Clearly his Technical Tidbits research is paying off when it comes to picking the stuff that'll happen in the rest of the country. Currently the worst of those who have played all five weeks is slimdog, whose 52 points were largely hampered by only scoring 6 points last week -- the low-water mark of the week.

A little more analysis on the scores shows...

70 1 2.8% 60 7 72.2%

62 3 47.2% 53 1 97.2%
61 2 52.8% 52 1 100.0%

Being in the top 25 felt good. Then seeing that it puts me in the bottom half again? Ugh. I don't know why I'm writing this blog. You all clearly know more than I do.

The games continue tomorrow with the Week 6 Weekend Selections. Stay tuned!
