It's here. Game day. You've been waiting for this moment for 8 months. 8 months of basketball, the NBA, MLB, heat, insufficient rain, hard work, minimal fun, and no time at your home (by which I mean Georgia Tech). Screw that noise. It's football season. We have the best three months of the year ahead of us, and we're going to enjoy them to the fullest.
Today, the Yellow Jackets take on the Wofford Terriers on the Flats. The Jackets look to replace 13 starters between offense and defense with a lot of talented young guns. Keep an eye out for first-time starting QB Justin Thomas and his backup, Tim Byerly, as well as new starting BB Zach Laskey and his backup, Synjyn Days. Also watch out for the defensive line, which has lots of talent and very little experience, as well as the distribution of defensive formations after the Jackets spent a lot of offseason time working on the 4-2-5 nickel set to counter the offenses they're due to see this fall.
