Quayshawn Nealy, RS Senior, Linebacker
Quayshawn is going to be a big part of the defense this year. As the only returning starter at linebacker (and arguably the best player on the defense this season), Quayshawn will be counted on as a leader and a playmaker. Prior to last season, Nealy was listed as 1st team All-ACC by Athlon Sports and 3rd team All-ACC by Phil Steele.
Quayshawn played in all 13 games last season and started 12 of those. In those 13 games, he recorded 66 total tackles, 3.5 TFL, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 interceptions. Like Brandon Watts was last season, Quayshawn comes into the season underrated and ready to prove himself. He will definitely get the chance to do that this season.
He also had the wonderful opportunity to speak at the ACC Media Days. Below is his interview.
Is Quayshawn Nealy the leader on defense this season? Will he improve his stock enough to be drafted in the 2015 NFL Draft?
