Well, that didn't take very long at all. Today was the first day since the end of the dead period which restricted the ability for recruits and coaches to visit, and on this first day, Georgia Tech picked up another commitment from Carrollton High School CB Dante Wigley, who committed after seeing some old uga QB that no one cares about working out with the almighty Calvin Johnson.
The currently unrated Wigley stands at 6-1, 180 lbs, with a recorded 4.4 40-yard dash according to 247Sports. Wigley committed to Tech over offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, and Mississippi State, while also drawing interest from NC State.
There are a couple good quotes from Kelly Quinlan's free article courteous of Rivals. Mainly working on the recruiting for Wigley was LBs coach and Recruiting Coordinator Andy McCollum.
Courtesy of Hudl, here is Dante's highlight film.
In his highlight film, Wigley shows his ability and willingness to tackle in the first few seconds. He also shows off some good vision in coverage. This makes me think that he could fit into the Nickel role in Ted Roof's 4-2-5 Defense. (If you want to know more about the 4-2-5, click here.
What do y'all think of Dante Wigley? Who commits next?
