Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Football: RB Travis Custis and LB/DE Jabari Hunt-Days Ineligible for 2014 Season

Well, this sucks.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Neither freshman BB Travis Custis nor junior LB-turned-DE Jabari Hunt-Days will be playing football on the Flats this fall and it sucks. Here's the release from RamblinWreck.com

THE FLATS – True freshman running back Travis Custis and junior linebacker-turned-defensive end Jabari Hunt-Days will not play football for Georgia Tech this fall.

Custis is leaving Georgia Tech for at least the 2014-15 academic year to pursue academic and athletic opportunities at Georgia Military College.

Hunt-Days will not be eligible to participate against outside competition for the 2014 season because he does not meet NCAA eligibility standards.  Hunt-Days, who was a starter at linebacker in 2012 and 2013, moved to defensive end in the spring. He has played in 27 career games, recording 129 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions.

Well, this really sucks. At BB, it looks like Zach Laskey, Matt Connors, and Donavon Wilson will get to show what they're made of. Hopefully, Custis will return to GT in time. That loss really hurts. Losing Jabari won't be as bad in my opinion with Keshun Freeman breaking out this Spring and Kenderius Whitehead coming in the fall. Still would have been nice to have both of these guys this season.
