After a phenomenal career at Georgia Tech, Robbie Godhigh is taking his talents to the next level north of the border as he joins the Montreal Alouettes, where he will see two former Yellow Jackets: Gary Guyton and Anthony Allen.
According to Ken Sugiura of the AJC, Godhigh's contract is for one year with a team option for a second. This is not the first time Robbie Godhigh has slipped under the radar as all of you know (and if you don't, shame on you). As a senior in high school, Godhigh did not receive a single FBS offer, but instead decided to walk on at Georgia Tech. The rest, you could say, is history. Godhigh would go on to have his best season as a senior, where he rushed 744 yards and 7 touchdowns from the A-back position.
As for the other two former Yellow Jackets that Godhigh will be joining, Gary Guyton signed on for a two-year deal earlier in the month along with former Kansas State QB Collin Klein (according to this link). Anthony Allen, however, is only with the Alouettes on a tryout basis according to Sugiura.
In the last few years, the Alouettes have also sent someone to Georgia Tech: new special teams coordinator/assistant OL coach Ray Rychleski.
Congratulations to Robbie! Here's to hoping he gets his chance, not only in the CFL, but the NFL as well!
