It was a rough afternoon for the Yellow Jackets. After having the game postponed from Friday night, the Yellow Jackets came up and short by 8 runs, while only managing four hits against Washington's ace Tyler Davis, who came into the game 10-2 with a 1.75 ERA, so the Yellow Jackets knew they were going to get their money's worth.
With the loss, the Yellow Jackets will play again on Sunday at noon against the loser between Ole Miss and Jacksonville State, with the winner of the Ole Miss/Jacksonville St game playing Washington Sunday at 4 PM.
With Sunday's game being an elimination game, I anticipate that we will see one of two pitchers start the game: Devin Stanton or Dusty Isaacs. Devin Stanton has had a phenomenal year, and was rewarded with the opportunity to start in the ACC Championship Game. He did not disappoint. En route to victory, Stanton pitched a solid 3.2 innings, allowing only two runs on five hits.
"Trusty" Dusty Isaacs got his first start of the season in the ACC Tournament against Clemson. In his 5.0 innings against the Tigers, "Trusty" Dusty shut them out, only allowing a hit, while striking out 7 batters. "Trusty" Dusty also went on to win the ACC Tournament MVP.
Who will start for us in the elimination game? Who will we play?
