C.J.'s recruit profile can be found here.
Ed. Note: C.J. asked for a rain check when I first requested an interview because he had a test to study for. I think we picked a winner.
Which other schools were recruiting you, and why Georgia Tech over them?
I was being recruited by UCLA, Vanderbilt, Pitt, Yale, and Georgia State. I liked Tech because of the great blend of academics and athletics. The rich history of the school and being so close to home were great too. I wanted to be close to my family so that the could see me play. I just thought it was a great opportunity!
It sounds to me like you guys are really close as a class. Are there any guys you've gotten to know particularly well?
Well, we played against Norcross, so I know Myles (Autry) and Clinton (Lynch). I actually have known Myles for a few years -- we played on the same AAU basketball team.
Wow, wasn't aware of that! Do you know whether the coaches want you playing A-Back or B-Back?
I'll be playing A-Back, maybe a little B-Back too. But the plan right now is that I'll primarily be an A-Back.
Do you know what you want to study yet?
I mainly want to go into medicine, but I am open to seeing what else is out there as well.
Last question -- is there anything you want the fans to know about you?
Just that I'm very excited about coming to Georgia Tech! I can't wait to try and make an impact and help bring Tech back to greatness!
Thanks so much to C.J. and all of his fellow signees for taking their time to speak with From the Rumble Seat as they come to Georgia Tech! We're excited about each and every one of them, in what they bring to our school and our team!
