The Jackets handled being ranked much better last week against NC State than they did the last time they were ranked heading into a game. A convincing win over the Wolfpack kept Tech ranked in the third installment of the College Football Playoff rankings.
Unlike last week, Tech was also included in the newest AP Poll at 24th and the newest Coaches Poll at 23rd.
Georgia Tech was able to jump West Virginia, Utah, and Oklahoma after their losing efforts on Saturday. After being ranked 24th last week, it seemed logical to put the Jackets 21st as a result of jumping those three teams. Oddly enough, Wisconsin jumped five spots from 25th to 20th with a win over Purdue. The Badgers jumping ahead of two winning teams in Georgia Tech and Duke because of a win over a bad opponent doesn't make much sense to me, but I guess the committee saw something that they liked.

Tech will have a nice opportunity against Clemson this week to get some more respect in the polls. A win would likely move the Jackets close to the top 15 going into a bye week before the Georgia game. Let's hope the bad mojo when ranked is gone and we can get a big victory on Saturday in Atlanta.
