Facts and Figures from the Virginia Tech Game

Here are some numbers from Georgia Tech's loss to Virginia Tech. Some are encouraging, others very alarming.

The Virginia Tech defense is everything its hyped up to be.

Bud Foster's crew shut down Georgia Tech and held the Yellow Jackets to only 129 yards rushing. The Hokies also made plays through the air as Logan Thomas completed 19-25 passes for a total of 221 yards. The Hokies were in control throughout the game and held on to win with a final of 17-10. Georgia Tech now has to regroup and get ready for a good Miami team next Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets are now (3-1) on the season and (2-1) in the conference.

Stats that make you feel blah:

Third down efficiency: 5-14

Fourth down efficiency: 0-3

Rushing yards: 129 (Yikes!)

Total yards: 273

Penalties: 9-66 yards

Turnovers: 3 (1 Fumble and 2 Picks)

Could not block: Derrick Hopkins (6'0", 311lbs) Virginia Tech Senior Defensive Tackle

Mr. Consistent: DeAndre Smelter - three catches for 76 yards

Came to play: Logan Thomas- 19-25 passes and 221 yards passing with one touchdown.
