Georgia Tech Football: Yellow Jackets Roll, Beat Duke 38-14

New, 6 comments

It was a solid afternoon in Durham that saw the Yellow Jackets go for 4 passing touchdowns and another rushing touchdown from hometown boy Vad Lee. Duke took a 7-3 lead early, before the Jackets reeled off 28 straight points for a 31-7 lead. Each team scored once more before the game's end, with the last coming in the form of a 19-yard pass from Vad Lee to Zach Laskey, who was running a beautiful wheel route. Lee ended up 8/16 passing, but had some really great moments where he effectively placed passes into tight windows for successful plays. He also made some great reads, enabling Tech to come up with 344 yards on the ground to complement his 125 yards through the air.

The defense had a slow start against a tricky and fired up Duke offense, but got in gear fairly quickly as they allowed 7 points in the final 51 minutes of the game and only 254 yards overall.

What were your thoughts on this game? Georgia Tech is about to embark upon an extremely difficult 4-game stretch...are you feeling confident?
