SOLOMON POOLE UNDERGOES SUCCESSUL SHOULDER SURGERY

Sophomore guard expected back on the court for summer workouts

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech guard Solomon Poole underwent successful surgery Thursday to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder which had caused him problems during the 2012-13 season. He is expected to make a full recovery.

“I’m pleased that Solomon’s surgery was successful,” said head coach Brian Gregory. “I’m confident, with his work ethic and the rehab that he will undergo, that he’ll make a full recovery and have a successful sophomore season.”

The 6-0 rising sophomore from Jacksonville, Fla., played in 21 games for the Yellow Jackets in 2012-13, including all 18 ACC games, averaging 1.8 points and 1.0 assists as a backup to senior Mfon Udofia. He had graduated early from high school and enrolled at Tech following the fall semester.
