A new weekly feature, Tech on Twitter (you could call it T.O.T., but all I can think of when I hear that is this) explores what's going on in the world of Georgia Tech sports on Twitter. It's a wacky place, filled largely with football players cheesing on each other and news and photos relevant to all our interets. You can check out the introductory piece that's along the same lines here. So, you ask, what's up in cyberspace? Let's find out.
I reported in the Tidbits this morning that the team is leaning hard into spring workouts, and they're not shy about advertising it:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Got up and grind this morning at 5 coaches runs went well</p>— Pat Gamble™ (@PG_IXI) <a href="https://twitter.com/PG_IXI/status/308971642216919041">March 5, 2013</a></blockquote>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>We up!!! Early morning work wit the squad. 🙏🎱🏈💰<a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23GT8">#GT8</a> <a href="http://t.co/D0TnIYmSe9" title="http://instagr.am/p/WemAxMCqNk/">instagr.am/p/WemAxMCqNk/</a></p>— French LouTana(@LJY_3) <a href="https://twitter.com/LJY_3/status/308937168443809792">March 5, 2013</a></blockquote>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Best day of coaches run...I can actually sit up in class without my back hurting</p>— Synjyn Days (@sdays10) <a href="https://twitter.com/sdays10/status/308961503371997184">March 5, 2013</a></blockquote>

Looks like the team is working hard and they might actually be enjoying it. Elsewhere, the coaches are hard at work recruiting, and Graduate Assistant Preston Pehrson continues to push northern players hard to get them to come to Tech with his hashtag "The Migration." He's connecting with the kids largely through the creation of memes about how the north sucks/is cold and Georgia Tech doesn't/is not. Some are funny:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Looks cold up North! <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23themigration">#themigration</a> <a href="http://t.co/Es1svB9Rnx" title="http://twitter.com/CoachPehrson/status/308561050725404672/photo/1">twitter.com/CoachPehrson/s…</a></p>— CoachPreston Pehrson (@CoachPehrson) <a href="https://twitter.com/CoachPehrson/status/308561050725404672">March 4, 2013</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
and some...could use some work:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23themigration">#themigration</a> <a href="http://t.co/wduzxBPkVW" title="http://twitter.com/CoachPehrson/status/308765172128964608/photo/1">twitter.com/CoachPehrson/s…</a></p>— CoachPreston Pehrson (@CoachPehrson) <a href="https://twitter.com/CoachPehrson/status/308765172128964608">March 5, 2013</a></blockquote>

Then again, the latter got more shares and favorites than the former, so what do I know?
Just because the coaches are all on Twitter now doesn't mean they're always talking about work. Defensive G.A. Maurice Duncan had some fun in the weight room yesterday:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Guess who "got it in" with me in the weight rm today? The best mascot in college football! <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23GT">#GT</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23jackets">#jackets</a>@<a href="https://twitter.com/buzzbuzz_gt">buzzbuzz_gt</a> <a href="http://t.co/JU6E8Oufwv" title="http://twitter.com/CoachDuncanGT/status/308717767190777856/photo/1">twitter.com/CoachDuncanGT/…</a></p>— Maurice Duncan Jr. (@CoachDuncanGT) <a href="https://twitter.com/CoachDuncanGT/status/308717767190777856">March 4, 2013</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
and Coach Johnson did something we've never, ever, ever expected him to do: smile and play ping pong at the same time.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Doing my part to keep our DBs reflexes sharp... <a href="http://t.co/rEXMbiWzaI" title="http://twitter.com/GTPaulJohnson/status/308698332962881536/photo/1">twitter.com/GTPaulJohnson/…</a></p>— Paul Johnson (@GTPaulJohnson) <a href="https://twitter.com/GTPaulJohnson/status/308698332962881536">March 4, 2013</a></blockquote>

That about sums it up, but join us next Tuesday afternoon when we once again explore...T.O.T.
