Michael Sawyers 2014 DT (Ensworth HS) Nashville, TN (via 247SportsStudio)
The Detail: Michael Sawyers is a DT prospect from Ensworth HS in Nashville, TN (the same school Corn Elder went to). While in the video you see Elder benefit from the versatile Sawyers blocking at OG...his tape really stands out when he's playing defense. He plays at a low pad-level, uses his hands extremely well, gets off his block very quickly, and looks to have a non-stop motor getting to the ball carrier.
Tech's Chances: Very Good. He recently visited Georgia Tech for the second time for their March 9 Junior Day, where he had an opportunity to build ties with the coaching staff, especially CMP, who would coach him on the defensive line. He likes the value of a Tech education, and feels the environment at Tech is positive. He has quite a few offers already, notably from Ole Miss, Vandy, Louisville, and N.C. State. We'll stay tuned on his progress during the Spring and Summer.
