It's hard to look at last night's game with an objective point of view. The end is surely upon this era. And it ends with the sourest of sour tastes. It was painfully obvious which team realized it was on the bubble and which team HAD to win to stay alive. It wasn't Georgia Tech. Last night was an ironic game. The game against the Hokies was the lowest point total the Yellow Jackets have ever mustered under Paul Hewitt. Ironic yes? If you listened to the press conference, it was probably one of the most depressing press conferences you had listened. Sad, but true.
Whatever, we've all thought it long enough, here's the pulse of the Georgia Tech Fanbase...
Time for spring football and baseball
Can we get it trending? #FireHewitt
Final Virginia Tech 59, Georgia Tech 43. Not sorry I missed that one, actually. #ACCTRNY
#GaTech sets a new low scoring record under Paul Hewitt with just 43 points vs #VT. Previous mark was 46. #GT
Thank you, Paul Hewitt for 1 great year & a few pretty good. Now please leave quietly on Monday.
#SymbioticRelationship RT @WFeatherston: @hokieguru like I told @gobblercountry and @thekeyplay you're welcome and...thank you #Hokies #ACC
If GT has the NBA talent you assert it has, then wouldn't the right hire, with the proper command of x's and o's, be able to win?
43 points scored truly does make this the nadir of the Paul Hewitt era. It's time for it to end.
Hewitt says he's planning on returning to #GT next year, "But, you know..."
,..and finally, from TheKeyPlay
The end has surely come. It's been a long, up and down 11 years but the time has surely come. Thank you for your efforts Paul Hewitt. Good luck in the future.
