The 2011-2012 basketball season for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will continue to be an odd one as they bounce from place to place , Gwinnett Arena to Philips Arena. This week though,Tech is on the road (for real) and tonight they take on the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens, the second of three straight true road games. The Institute has not won in Athens in 8 straight visits....sounds like it's time to snap a losing streak two-fold.
Both teams sit at 4-4. Both teams are riding losing streaks, Georgia Tech at 2 games and Georgia at 3 games. Neither team isn't exactly exactly dominating the numbers either (Georgia Tech | Georgia). Though, I am happy to see that the Tech is averaging close to 40 rebounds to game which is good for 34th overall.
Coach Brian Gregory believes this game will come down to "the team that makes the least amount of mistakes". Well, why this may seem like an obvious answer, Georgia Tech has turned the ball over 121 times (15.125 per game) and Georgia has turned the ball over 98 times (12.25 per game).
Tipoff from Stegeman Coliseum will be at 7pm tonight. The game will be televised on Fox Sports South and can be found on the radio on either AM 790 or FM 106.7. Georgia Tech will travel to Savannah to play Savannah State on Saturday.
That's your "quick blurb" on basketball today. As we ease out of football you can count on increased coverage of our nomadic squad of basket-ballers into the winter.
Go Jackets!
