South Carolina Gamecocks Win The Last CWS At Rosenblatt Stadium

After losing their first game in Omaha (it's double elimination), the South Carolina Gamecocks stormed back and ran through the College World Series and beat UCLA two games to zero in the Championship Series.It was an epic, 11 inning match-up that resulted in a walko-ff hit in between first and second base. Steve Spurrier was in attendance as well and in the words of my mother: "He looks like a chia pet." I am not sure where that came from.

The last game properly closed down Rosenblatt Stadium. Thank you for the memories to Rosenblatt and the City of Omaha. We look forward to the next 50 years in the new place downtown. Congratulations USC, the georgie fans sense the apocalypse. Here's the conference survival chart from Bird:
