2009 ACC Championship Game Guide - Gobbler Country
Georgia Tech: The Yellow Jackets are coming off a home loss to rival Georgia that broke an eight game winning streak ... Georgia Tech had one of the better offenses in terms of yards per play in the ACC, but one of the worst defensively in the same category ... its triple-option attack is led by QB Josh Nesbitt, but he has two dangerous running backs at his disposal: Jon Dwyer and Anthony Allen. Clemson: The Tigers are coming off a road loss to rival South Carolina that broke a six-game winning streak ... the Tigers had one of the best defenses in the league, but a middling offense ... fortunately for the Tigers, C.J. Spiller can provide instant offense from either RB or returning kicks ... the Tigers were +7 in conference games, best in the ACC.

But here's betting Bob Seger never sang the words "turn the page" as many times in two days as the first-year coach, who said the No. 25 Tigers should not have a hard time regrouping for Saturday's 8 p.m. ACC title game against No. 12 Georgia Tech.

Wake-Up Call: Jackets, Tigers regroup to decide ACC crown
But it's significantly better than last season's ACC matchup (Virginia Tech-Boston College) that had an actual attendance of just 27,360 fans. The ACC title game will move to Charlotte, N.C. - where 75 percent of the league's membership is within six hours driving time - for 2010 and 2011. Obviously, that region is probably better-equipped to support a wide variety of ACC matchups.

After rare miscue, Thomas receives some encouragement - Georgia Tech - Macon.com
“He’s made a zillion plays for us and things happen,” Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson said. “Just like we’re all disappointed we lost the game, you just have to move on. And I think he’ll do that. He’s that kind of player, and he’s been invaluable to our team.”

One Season, One Game - Rocky Top Talk
With the win Saturday, the Vols are 7-5 in Lane Kiffin's first season. Based on the majority of projections, the Vols will not only play in a bowl game after missing one last season, but play in a traditional January 1 bowl, a right reserved for a select few. The Vols are second in the SEC East, two spots higher than preseason projections. And while 7-5 is not a number we're traditionally proud of, this year it is a number that looks better on closer examination - not just because it's Lane Kiffin's first year, but because of how we got there.

TCU was lucky enough to not take a hit for beating New Mexico as prior teams have. However it seems that if TCU wants to make it to the title game they need Texas and Cincinnati to lose. The computers have Cincy third and TCU five and with the Bearcats playing 15th BCS rated Pitt and may pass TCU on that win alone. Cincy would gain ground on the number two spot if Texas loses because some of the human voters may turn to Cincy instead of TCU since the Bearcats had their recent win over 15th rated Pitt.

"I don't like Utah. In fact, I hate them. I hate everything about them. I hate their program, their fans. I hate everything," Hall said. "It felt really good to send those guys home." [...] "I think the whole university and their fans and the organization is classless," Hall said. "They threw beer on my family and stuff last year and did a whole bunch of nasty things. I don't respect them and they deserved to lose."
