Tech will face Southern Miss today at 3:00PM

The ACC has 7 teams in the field along with 5 host sites out of 16 regionals. Georgia Tech is playing host to Austin Peay, Southern Mississippi, and Mississippi State in the Atlanta Regional, which is opposite the Gainesville Regional (UF, Miami, Jacksonville, Manhattan). Danny Hall and the Joltin' Jackets did not face any of those 8 squads in 2011. Tech is 1-2 all time versus Southern Miss (lone series played in 2009). Tech has only played Austin Peay one time (a victoy in 1996). Tech has faced off with Mississippi State 13 times with the last meeting coming in 1997. Tech is 3-10 all-time against MSU Bulldogs. Danny Hall has never coached head to head against MSU's John Cohen or UF's Kevin O'Sullivan. Tech's only spat with Scott Berry of Southern Miss ended with Tech being eliminated from the 2009 Atlanta Regional. Tech and Southern Miss played three games against each other in the 2009 regional and both scored 25 runs combined in all three games. Southern Miss used the Atlanta regional as a springboard into the CWS before being eliminated by UNC in 2009.
