Happy Spring Game day! Getting to see the first spring game of the Geoff Collins era isn’t the only good news happening today. Savannah-native DL Akelo Stone announced on Twitter that he would be Georgia Tech’s 11th commitment today.

Stone, who stands at 6-foot-3, 244 pounds, committed to the Yellow Jackets over other reported offers from Georgia Southern, West Virginia, Cincinnati, and South Florida.
He is rated as a three-star recruit by both Rivals (5.5) and the 247Sports Composite (0.8333).
Film
Something interesting that I noticed while watching Stone’s film is that a large portion of it is him going up against the run. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it makes it a little harder to see how he is a pass rusher. Looking at what I’ve got, it looks like he brings decent speed from the line and is able to get some push against offensive linemen, but coming to the next level he will need to bulk up and expand his pass rushing moves. Given that he is already nearly 250 pounds, I think he is likely to end up as a strongside end.
Welcome to the Flats!
