Georgia Tech’s offseason has officially begun, and tonight we got our first news of attrition, with redshirt-freshman quarterback Jay Jones announcing that he was transferring.
I ask the lord to send me a sign, I thought that I was blind cause I ain't never see the sign. But the sign showed after time and when I finally Realized, it was too late to rewind. Guess I was just waiting on that sign ... ~Trust the process~ pic.twitter.com/DuKxTI27mW

Jones played in one game for Georgia Tech this year against Pittsburgh. He finished the game with two carries for nine yards. Kelly Quinlan is reporting that Jones will be transferring to a junior college.

With Jones transferring, that currently leaves the Yellow Jackets a little thin at quarterback moving into the offseason. Next season, we will return TaQuon Marshall and Lucas Johnson as the only two quarterbacks with in-game experience, as well as Tobias Oliver, who redshirted this season.
Jones’ departure will also add another spot to our recruiting class, giving us five open spots currently, and possibly more if we suffer more attrition.
The thing that Tech needs to do right now is really focus in on getting another quarterback in this recruiting class to help balance out the depth chart.
