After receiving an MRI today, it has been determined that Freshman Guard Travis Jorgenson will miss the remainder of the season after he tore his ACL in his right knee (which he already had a brace on) Wednesday night against Dayton.
While not a starter, Jorgenson had played in all four games so far off the bench, averaging 4.3 points and 2.5 assists in nearly 20 minutes per game. It is a huge setback for the Freshman, who looked like a guy who could quickly turn into an impact player off the bench for the Jackets.
The following quote from Coach Brian Gregory was provided on Ramblinwreck.com:
"This is unfortunate for Travis and a loss for us," said Gregory. "He had put in a lot of work and was poised to have a very good freshman year. But we know he's going to get the best treatment and rehab possible, and with his work ethic, he'll make a full recovery and be back on the court next year."
How big of a blow is this for the Yellow Jackets? How will the loss of Jorgenson affect the rest of our season?
