News came out Tuesday evening (past the publishing deadline for this fine media outlet) that Georgia Tech softball coach Sharon Perkins will not have her contract renewed now that it has expired. It's really a bit of a curious move considering that Perkins posted a 290-138 record with 6 NCAA Tournament appearances, 3 ACC Championships, and 3 ACC Coach of the Year Awards. I guess I'm going to trust Bobinski on this one, though.
r/cfb today featured a post concerning the "earnings" of college football players based on what their scholarship covers and what it would cost normally for someone with no financial aid. The results are really quite interesting. Also, as with most any math-related college football reddit post, it was done by a Georgia Tech fan.
I found this really fascinating article the other day (authored by the great Jason Kirk) detailing the number of times through the past few years that very delicate circumstances could have lead to the breaking of the SEC's current 7-year National Championship reign.
It would appear that Louisville made its first appearance at ACC meetings early this week, and that their AD and Head Football Coach both crossed paths with Coach Johnson. Man, what I wouldn't give to watch Coach Johnson and Coach Strong interact. Both have very fierce personalities, it seems. (Would also love for CPJ to get a couple of recruiting tips from Coach Strong, who has been recruiting like nobody's business up at Louisville.)
It may be the offseason, but we like to keep our football players hard at work year-round.
