As I said, the season series is split at one game a piece, but honestly Tech is trying to prove themselves a bit with this game today after losing 0-17 at Turner Field last month. The other meeting, earlier this season at uga, ended in a 7-5 win for Georgia Tech.
Tech has had great history against uga at home, as Georgia has not won at Russ Chandler Stadium since their Super Regional win in 2004. Tech has also won 9 of the past 13 meetings, as well as 3 consecutive series. While, Tech as a great home streak, the overall series between the two teams currently sits at 199-157-2 in dwag's favor.
As for the game tonight, this will Georgia Tech's last home game of the season. Each team enters this series with different momentum- Tech's last weekend series ended with win over #1 UNC, with two their two wins coming as walk off's in the 9th and 11th innings. As for uga, they were swept by South Carolina. Tech looks to gain momentum heading into the ACC tournament while uga is trying to stop their landslide of a rough season.

Tech is looking to gain momentum as a bubble team for the NCAA post-season. I personally think they are in, but I question their Regional hosting status right now. With a series win against UNC this past weekend, a win against uga tonight and a series win against Miami this weekend would be just what the doctor ordered for this hopeful team. Recent postseason play for the Jackets have come up short, having not made it past Regional play since 2006 during the CWS visit. Do you think the Jackets will be successful in the postseason? ACC tournament? What about tonight?
