The ACC
The ACC Tourney opens play Thursday, March 14th, In Greensboro and the ACC just released the bracket today. Tech, the nine seed, starts off noon Thursday when they take on eighth-seeded Boston College in the opening round. If the Jackets win this game they'll go on to play Miami in the second round at noon the next day. If they lose, they're out. This means that Tech has the potential to play the following sequence of opponents: Miami, BC, BC, Miami. It's a mad world we live in. Of note:
- The ninth seed is the highest Tech has received since the 2009-2010 tournament, when the Jackets were seeded seventh.
- Boston College is the last remaining ACC school that Tech has never faced in conference tournament play.
- Three of Tech's four tournament runner-up performances have occurred in the G-Bo coliseum, but none of its three conference championships have.
- Tech's last conference championship was in 1993 under the direction of Bobby Cremins and Tournament MVP James Forrest.
All ACC Tech games will available over the local airwaves on 790AM/106.7 and WATL-TV. You can also see the game nationally on ESPNU.
