Malcolm Mackey was named to the 2012 class of ACC Tournament Legends. Some of you may not remember him, but Bobby Hurley certainly does. This is one of my favorite GT basketball plays, as I was never a Hurley fan. I disagreed with the call. A player setting a blind screen has to give the opponent two steps, which Mackey did. He also is permitted to protect himself, which he did. What he did not do, and the official missed it, was to initiate the contact or intentionally try to injure the opponent. Notice at the end of the video, when Mackey greets Hurley's return to consciousness. He was a class guy who also played hard. He outweighed Hurley by about sixty pounds, so the impact was fierce.
